Kad 1764. gadā tika celta pirmā muižas ēka, te vēl bija lauki – baltas Daugavas krastu kāpas un mitras ielejas. Šobrīd veco muižas parku no visām pusēm ieskauj pilsēta. Arī pati parka teritorija daudz cietusi – 1812.gadā tika uzbūvēta cukurfabrika, savukārt lielākie postījumi videi nodarīti padomju varas gados, kad te darbojās gateris un stikla rūpnīca.

Tomēr Bišumuižas parks joprojām var lepoties ar dabas daudzveidību, kas raksturīga savvaļas ekosistēmai. Parkā mājvietu var atrast visdažādākās putnu sugas – parka teritorijā ir gan mežs, gan klajums, gan ēkas. Šeit sastopamas svīres, mājas un meža strazdi, cielavas, zvirbuļi, vālodzes, žubītes, svirlītes, čuņčiņi, zaļžubītes, dzeņi, vistu vanagi un lakstīgalas.

Bišumuižas parkā aug 10 koku sugas, tai skaitā otrs lielākais Rīgas dižozols, kurš varētu būt pat 500 – 600 gadus vecs, tā diametrs ir 160 cm. Par dižkokiem atzīti arī parka vecākie melnalkšņi. Kopumā parkā tika konstatētas 66 augu sugas – šādu daudzveidība vienuviet pilsētā ir retums. Bišumuižiņas ansamblis ar parku ir valsts nozīmes arhitektūras piemineklis.
