Adrese: Viskaļu iela 16. „Rīgas TEC-1” jeb Rīgas pirmā termoelektrocentrāle tika uzcelta laikā no 1954. līdz 1958. gadam. Celtnes arhitektūrā saskatāms tipisks padomju laika fenomens - apvienotas „kopīgās padomju tautas” vērtības ar latvisko. Tāpēc TEC fasādēs redzama latviskā ornamenta stilizācija.

Līdz Pļaviņu hidroelektrostacijas uzbūvēšanai tā bija lielākā Latvijas elektrostacija. Sākotnēji elektrostacijas iekārtas bija paredzētas kurināšanai ar kūdru, bet vēlāk tās tika pielāgotas dabasgāzes un mazuta kurināšanai.
2003. gada 30. jūnijā tika parakstīts līgums par Latvenergo ražotnes TEC-1 rekonstrukcijas projekta realizāciju. 2004. gada 19. aprīlī tika iemūrēts svinīgais pamatakmens. Rekonstrukcijas darbi tika pabeigti 2005. gada novembrī.

Rekonstruētā elektrostacija kā galveno kurināmo izmanto dabasgāzi, savukārt kā rezerves kurināmais ir paredzēta dīzeļdegviela. Tagad elektrostacija ir aprīkota ar divām gāzes turbīnām un vienu tvaika turbīnu, kā arī 3 ūdens sildāmajiem katliem. Rīgas TEC-1 darbojas koģenerācijas režīmā, vienlaikus ražojot gan siltumenerģiju, gan elektroenerģiju. Pašreizējā uzstādītā elektriskā jauda ir 144 MW, siltuma jauda ir 490 MW. Rīgas TEC-1 saražoto elektroenerģiju nodod Latvijas elektropārvades sistēmas 110 un 330 kilovoltu tīklos, savukārt saražoto siltumu realizē Rīgas siltumapgādes uzņēmuma "Rīgas Siltums" tīklā.
