Hospitāļu ielas apkārtnē jau 20.gs. sākumā darbojās evaņģelizācijas sapulces. Golgātas Misione ir dibināta tikai 1911. gadā. 1912. gadā draudzes vajadzībām tika nopirkts īpašums Kazarmu un Hospitāļu ielas stūrī, tā kā baptistu draudzēm bija problēmas ar īpašuma reģistrēšanu, tad formālie īpašnieki bija V. Fetlers, E. Viļums un J. Krūze. Pirmais dievkalpojums jaunajā baznīcā notika jau 1912. gada jūnijā. Baznīcas ēka celta 1899. gadā pēc O. Bāra projekta. Sākotnēji tā bija celta kā manēža krievu armijas vajadzībām.

Babtisti baznīcu pārveidoja – kādreizējā altāra daļā tika iekārtota neliela lūgšanu zāle un likvidēja ieeju no Kazarmu ielas. Golgātas baptistu baznīca ir ļoti vienkārša brūna koka ēka. Galvenā ieeja baznīcā ir no Hospitāļu ielas, kas ir akcentēta ar asimetrisku tornīti.
Lūgšanu zālē novietoti vienkārši koka krēsli un kancele. Baznīcā atrodas K.A. Hermaņa ērģeles.
Baznīca darbojās arī padomju varas gados, kad uz dievkalpojumiem nāca arī baptisti no citām draudzēm, kas savu darbību bija pārtraukušas. Kopš 1965. gada baznīcas mazajā lūgšanu zālē darbojas arī Rīgas Betānijas krievu draudze, no 1968.-1975. gadam darbojās arī vācu Golgātas draudze.
